They were made from 1966 to 1971, in a 90cc version for their home market, and the 100cc version for the US and Europe. This put out a healthy 9.5bhp @ 8500rpm.
This was the start of a whole line of quarter litre Yamaha two stroke twins culminating in the TZ125 water-cooled racer in the 1980’s. An illustrious machine with an illustrious heritage. Which classic Japanese motorcycle enthusiast could not want one of these pretty, crisp sounding little twins?
